For those of you who like Deadmau5 and like to craft electronic music, but are simply stumped as to how he does it, this will give you a head start.
The Deadmau5 xfer Sample CD has over 3300 samples and one-shots (555 MB) that you can load straight into whatever software you use. They are simply .wav files, so you don't have to worry about compatibility. Whether you use Ableton, FL, Reason, Cubase, or anything else, these will work.
I picked this up a couple weeks ago and gave them a try. Most of the samples are one-shots, with just a few golden tonal sounds such as moog. A lot of these samples sound just like the presets that you can find in VSTi's, so you can't really tap into the "magic" of Deadmau5, but you can at least use some of his signature sounds. The best part for me at least, is that there is a plethora of pre-mixed sounds like claps, snares, and kicks, so you don't have to be stuck with the really crappy drum presets found in most programs. A lot of the samples are pretty much identical, too, with very slight differences.
Overall I'd say it's definitely a pretty cool collection, but its value is a little shaky once you consider the steep $99 price tag.

Despite the large amount of sample CDs out there, we saw a niche for one geared towards building blocks of EDM with a twist - this one is royalty-free, so it can be used in original productions with no fear of legal repercussions from the original artists who often are sampled on other CD libraries", says Steve. "We tried to make an assortment featuring a variety of sound sources, which aren't overproduced so they can fit into a production workflow without stamping their own flavor on a mix and being overly-recognizable.
